Name: Deanna Durbin

Maker: Madame Alexander

Size: 25”

Medium: composition

Date: 1940s

Description: This gorgeous doll is 25 inches tall, all composition, jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips.

Her composition is in excellent condition, with one craze line off the corner of her left eye, and a tiny one on her lower left eyelid.

Her facial paint is nice, with vivid brows, eyeshadow, lower lashes, nostrils, blush on cheeks and knees, her lips appear to have been touched up.

Her open/close sleep eyes work fine, are cloudy and her lashes have one very small gap on the right eye. Her brown human hair wig is in its original set with bangs swept to curls, the sides and rear flipped and with red bows on either side, and is a little sparse in the back, although recombing it could help.

She is dressed in one of her most iconic outfits, consisting of a navy wool skirt with an attached white top, which goes under the red and blue plaid wool top with its flaring, open-top sleeves, red piping and red buttons in front, and on her head is a matching red tam.

Underneath is her original white lace-trimmed full slip and replaced panties, and on her feet is her original red-striped white cotton socks and black leatherette shoes with buckles and bows on the front, that lace.

All of her clothing is in excellent condition, with no rips, tears, holes, spots, stains or repairs. She is nicely strung and has no odors. She is totally cabinet ready and will make a great addition to any collection.
