Name: Easter Doll
Maker: Madame Alexander
Size: 8”
Medium: Hard Plastic
Date: 1968 only
Description: This is a very rare doll, made only
for the West Coast at the request of Frank Martin, sales representative
for Alexander Doll Co. Only 150 of this size were made.
Darling bent-knee Wendy-kin is the rare "Easter Doll". She is in
mint, never played-with all-original condition, with a perfect face.
Hand-painted brows and lower lashes, blue sleep eyes, rosy cheeks,
a sweet & tiny pouty mouth are enhanced by her long dark brunette
bangs. Her shiny hair is in the original long straight late-60s style.
Wendy's knees work perfectly and there are no split seams.
The pale yellow pleat-front polished cotton dress has the "Madame
Alexander" tag.
White lace covers the bodice and matching bonnet, which are also
decorated with dainty lace trim; a lace-hemmed batiste petticoat is
attached inside the dress.
She has perfect cream suedecloth side-snap shoes and white nylon
fine-knit tights.
Please see page 150 in Pat Smith's "World of Alexander-kins".
There is also a 14" size, which I also have.
